Our Mission
Lightsaber Team aspires to become a dynamic athletic performance group that offers a healthier alternative lifestyle for those who share our passion for Star Wars, fan culture, fitness, and staged combat choreography. We believe in promoting fun, friendship, and physical well-being through creative expression and fandom.
Our Origins
Founded in Southern California’s Inland Empire, our group began as the Inland Empire Saber Team, later renamed Light Saber Team. Our core activities centered around staged combat stunt choreography and athletic performance, combining the love of Star Wars with an active lifestyle.
On May 4, 2015, we proudly rebranded as Lightsaber Team after receiving permission from Lucasfilm Ltd. to use the copyrighted term “lightsaber.”

Lightsaber Team is growing! With club chapters now operating across California, we are excited to expand even further. We welcome anyone interested in forming a new chapter—if you’re inspired to bring Lightsaber Team to your community, we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for fellow enthusiasts who want to train in staged combat, engage in athletic performances, and be part of a welcoming community. No experience is necessary—just a love for Star Wars, a sense of fun, and a willingness to move.
